Super Bowl 51

Super Bowl 51

Ian Sinclair

Being called one of the best Super Bowls in history, Super Bowl 51 was one for the books, being the only Super Bowl in history to ever go into overtime. Going in the Super Bowl the Patriots were seen as being the favorites to win and Tom Brady getting his 5th ring. Tom Brady has won every Super Bowl for the New England Patriots franchise. The Falcons started out strong actually being up 21-3 at half and Matty “Ice” Ryan  was on fire completing 7/8 passes for  1 TD and Tom Brady on the other hand had thrown 16/26 and an interception that was returned 82 yards for a TD, the second most in NFL Super Bowl history. Everyone including me thought the game was over, except Tom Brady.

The Falcons came out hard in the second half like they did in the first, scoring on their opening drive but that would be their only touchdown for the rest of the night. Tom Brady and the Patriots came back and scored 25 unanswered points and forced over time, for the first time in Super Bowl history. The Patriots won in over time 34-28 Tom Brady threw 63 passes and completed 46 and threw for a total 466 yards, another Super Bowl record.

Tom Brady led the Patriots to back to back wins and a record 5th Super Bowl victory
