A Great Weekend for our Band

Trenton Timlin, Reporter

This past Saturday, on October 2, our band competed at Teays Valley High School. The band did a great job, not only winning 1st place in Class C, but also winning Best Percussion and Best Overall Music in Classes B and C.  Mr. Claassen, the band director, is happy to have won all of these awards, but is the most proud of the Best Overall Music Award because the band was competing against schools in our class and schools above our class. Our band is now looking to get ready to compete in the Forest Hills Band Expo on October 23. Mr Claassen says that the bands biggest goal is to get a 1 at this competition. This is the highest rating a school can get at an OMEA competition. If the Eagle’s get a 1, this will qualify them for the Ohio State Finals. Good luck Eagles!

Make sure to come see the band play this Friday at the Senior Night football game. Please also check out our band’s website where you can hear recordings  of our band from this year and previous years.
