OMEA Solo and Ensemble Performance

OMEA Solo and Ensemble Performance

Sydney Grace, columnist

Congratulations to the choir on their excellent performance at the OMEA Solo and Ensemble competition. Here’s a summary from Miss Scarberry (the Middle School and High School choir teacher) about the OMEA Solo and ensemble performances;

On Saturday, January 21, a small group of student from the High School Choir competed at OMEA Solo and Ensemble. This event is a competition in which students prepare a solo or small group performance and receive a rating for their performance based on tone, quality, expression, and accuracy. Our students competed at the District 15 Solo and Ensemble event at Pickerington North High School, alongside hundreds of other high school choir and band students from all over central Ohio. They performed folk song, “Simple Gifts,” and received a Superior rating for their performance, which is the highest rating possible. The students who participated in the vocal ensemble were Mayowa Adeola, Calista Manns, Alexis Millikin, Taylor Nazeck, Bree Rilly, Lily Stonebraker, Lauryn weaver and Faith Williams. This was the choir’s first time performing at Solo and Ensemble in many years, and they did a fantastic Job!
