Eagles Win!!!!!!!

Grove City Christian had never won a district title in the history of its basketball program. That all changed on March 11, 2017 when the Eagles beat number one seed at Bloom Carol high school.

This is one of the greatest achievements this school has ever seen in its short history. The game went back and forth through the Warriors of Harvest Prep made a late push to cut the lead to one point at a time. But nothing would stop the Eagles from cutting the nets.  The Eagles fought back led by Brandon Baker with 17 points.  Noah Tomlinson hit a clutch three pointer and two free throws. With 1.3 second left Harvest was at the line for three free throws down 5 they made the first two and tried to get a rebound to score a quick three but the Clay Shoemaker was fouled and sent to the line for a 1 and 1 with 0.7 seconds left. Clay iced the game with his free trow and coach Timlin went bonkers pumping up the crowd.  He knew he had achieved the goal of district champions. The Eagles won the game by a final of 64-60 and were district champions.

They now play Portsmouth Clay on Tuesday March 14 at 8 at the convention center in Athens Ohio. Be there to support your Eagles as they go on their quest for a state title.
