What are the new iPhones?!

Logan Davis, Reporter

Tuesday, September 12th Apple held a keynote event in their new Steve Jobs theater in Cupertino, California announcing their next gen iPhones. This is exciting for everyone in the tech world, as it advances every aspect of technology in our world today and definitely helps show us what our future will hold. So3, with better waterproofing, specs and thinness. Personally I’m glad that they d

id this so at some point I may be able to buy the 1st generation as when new products are released, the old ones go down in value.

The second major thing announced was the iPhone 8 and 8 plus. The iPhone 8 and 8 plus are more like the 7s and 7s plus because they only have a few upgrades from the iPhone 7 just like the 6s had from the 6. The iPhone 8 has a better processor, wireless charging support, and a better camera.

The most major thing announced on Tuesday was the iPhone X. The new iPhone X will have an all new design. These new features include, a glass back (the iPhone 8 has this too), wireless charging (iPhone 8 also has this too), an edge to edge display covering the whole front of the phone except for the part where the camera and speaker are, a new camera that records up to 4k at 60 fps, 240fps slow mo at 1080p and a 12mp wide-angle and telephoto camera and my favorite part about the phone, the screen is all new, apple calls it the “Super Retina Display.”  Apple also introduced the new idea of Face ID into their new iPhone x, this will actually use multiple sensors in the top of the phone to scan your face. Unfortunately that means there is no Touch ID on this phone which personally I really like on the current iPhones and think it’s the best way to keep your phone secured but, I guess we’ll have to see once the iPhone x is available to buy.

Speaking of the iPhone 8, it is available to preorder on Friday, September 15th and will ship on September 22 with a starting price of $699 for the 64gb model and $799 for the 256gb model. The iPhone X will be available for preorder starting on October 27 and will ship on November 3rd with a starting price of $999 for the 64gb model  and $1,149 for the 256gb model.
